Doodle Kaleidoscope

I use Kaleidoscope Kreator make the kaleidoscopes shown on the blog. It is software that easily creates kaleidoscopes from an imported image (photo, sketch, clip art, etc.). It is great fun!

Here I am using a photo of some doodles. It is amazing to me that mindless squiggles on paper can result in a totally transformed end product. I think it is the rhythm and repetition of elements that make kaleidoscopes so pleasing.

The process can also be done with Photoshop but I find it much more time consuming since I am not very proficient with Photoshop. Visit Sue O'Kieffe's blog for Photoshop instructions if you want to give it a try.

I'm thinking about a quilt based on various kaleidoscopes made from a single image. I'll share as I work through the process.

That would be a spectacular quilt! It reminds me of blue and white china. Gorgeous!
